Come and experience the beauty and cultural significance of our Acequia landscapes in el Valle de Atrisco (the South Valley)! You can be part of shared communal support for protecting and preserving these vital waterways in Bernalillo County.
¡Venga a experimentar la belleza y la importancia cultural de nuestros paisajes de acequias en el Valle de Atrisco (el South Valley)! Usted puede formar parte del apoyo comunitario compartido para proteger y preservar estas vías fluviales vitales en el condado de Bernalillo.
Join us for a unique educational experience paired with community engagement while we walk along our cherished acequias (community flood irrigation ditches). We'll learn about their deep-rooted history and importance to our culture, land, and water - other topics include an overview of the Rio Grande Compact, Acequias in relation to MRGCD, and the current water situation in the Middle Rio Grande Valley. Kids activities also available (scavenger hunt).
