CESOSS, along with multiple partners, is creating the Acequia Education and Outreach Office. The community organizer will be responsible for water rights & amp; advocacy trainings and action, organizing emergency well training, coordinate water rights workshops, organize virtual acequia walk and talks, and conduct water and acequia mapping in the middle Rio Grande Valley, as necessary. We are seeking a self-motivated, outgoing Community Organizer to work closely with the CESOSS Director to conduct outreach, base building, training, education, fundraising, and leadership development among water-right owners. The community organizer will be responsible for working and expanding acequia membership and involvement to promote the protection of individual water-right owners. The Community Organizer will co-facilitate acequia meetings and trainings and implement water-rights development trainings throughout the year. The Community Organizer will work with our Director and partners to advance the Acequia Education and Outreach Office to support local residents to understand, claim, and put their water to beneficial use.
