Acequia Documentation Project

Advocate for Positive Changes
The Acequia Infrastructure Documentation Project aims to create a comprehensive record of issues related to Acequia infrastructure within the South Valley, highlighting areas that require attention and improvement from city government agencies. Through a combination of documentation and photography, the project seeks to raise awareness about the challenges irrigators and community members face and advocate for positive changes in the acequias of the South Valley.
Bike Riding Session
In a special collaboration with Story Riders, we came together for a fun session of riding the Armijo and Atrisco Acequias while documenting the state that they’re in.
This special session was for BIPOC youth ages 12-18 who knew how to ride a bicycle. However, a bike was not necessary to participate. Equipment was provided and they kept the bikes and helmets at the end to continue their adventures!
Stay tuned for a report of our findings!
